Our board is made up of five non-executive directors (NEDs). Three are lay NEDs, which means they have never been authorised to provide regulated legal services, and two are Costs Lawyers. The board has ultimate responsibility for the CLSB’s activities.
Our board meets four times a year to consider a variety of strategic issues, including the CLSB’s regulatory and operational performance, risk management, forward planning, resourcing and governance matters. The board may also consider specific issues outside of scheduled meetings.
You can access the minutes of recent board meetings by clicking on the links below. Historic minutes are available on request. We also publish Board Decision Notes in line with our Transparent Decisions Policy. Board Decision Notes explain the deliberation process and evidence base behind certain types of significant decisions taken by the board.
