Terms and Conditions for the CLSB diversity survey 2021 free draw

  1. The free draw opens when the 2022 Costs Lawyer practising certificate renewals process begins at the start of November 2021.
  2. To enter the free draw, entrants must submit a renewal application for a 2022 Costs Lawyer practising certificate and click on the link to complete the diversity survey by 23:59 on 31st December 2021 (the “closing date”).
  3. Entry to the draw is free and is open to all Costs Lawyers who submit a renewal application for a 2022 practising certificate and click on the link to complete the diversity survey.
  4. Entry into the free draw is limited to one entry per person.
  5. The prize is CPD courses of up to 60 minutes selected from the Datalaw’s Costs Lawyer course bundle (the “prize”). No cash alternatives are available.
  6. In January 2022 one winner will be selected at random by an independent person from all eligible entries received by the closing date (the “winner”).
  7. The winner will be selected within 28 days of the closing date, and notified by email. The winner will then have 7 days to confirm whether they would like to accept the prize. If the winner does not accept the prize, another winner will be selected in the manner described in Clause 6.
  8. If the winner chooses to accept the prize (the “prize holder”) they will be deemed to have understood and agreed to clauses 9 to 13 below.
  9. The prize holder will be announced in the next CLSB newsletter. The prize holder agrees that we may disclose their name and the area in the country they live (but not their specific address) for this purpose.
  10. As well as generally announcing the prize holder in accordance with Clause 9 above, we will, within 7 days of the winner confirming they wish to accept the prize, notify Datalaw of the prize holder’s contact details.
  11. The prize holder will liaise with Datalaw directly regarding the provision of the prize.
  12. The prize must be taken by 31 December 2022.
  13. If Datalaw has not heard from the prize holder by 31 December 2022, we reserve the right, at our absolute discretion, to consider the prize holder to have forfeited the prize and to withdraw the prize entitlement of that person.
  14. No additional, further or other costs or expenses are included in the prize.
  15. Any personal data that we collect in connection with this free draw will be processed in accordance with the European Regulation 2016/679 (the General Data Protection Regulation), Directive 2002/58/EC (Directive on privacy and electronic communications), the Data Protection Act 2018 and any additional applicable laws (including national implementing laws, regulations and secondary legislation), and with our privacy policy (a copy of which can be viewed at clsb.info), and will only be used to administer this promotion.
  16. CLSB reserves the right to withdraw or amend either the free draw or these terms and conditions at any time, without notice if this is necessary for reasons beyond its reasonable control.
  17. We make no representation or warranty in relation to the prize provided and to the fullest extent permitted by law we shall have no liability in relation to any prize, its fitness for purpose, merchantability or otherwise.
  18. The decision of CLSB is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Entries that do not comply in full with these terms and conditions will be invalid and disqualified.
  19. These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law and any disputes arising from these terms and conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of England and Wales
  20. The promoter of the free draw is the Costs Lawyer Standards Board Limited, a company registered in England & Wales (company number 04608905) whose registered office is at Sycamore House Sutton Quays Business Park, Sutton Weaver, Runcorn, Cheshire, WA7 3EH (“CLSB”).
