Newsletter – June 2020

From the CEO

Welcome to the first edition of the CLSB’s new look newsletter.

As businesses around the world embrace technology faster than ever before, here at the CLSB we are pushing forward with our own digital transformation. We began with the launch of our new website back in March. Our revamped newsletter is another small part of this much wider project.

We’ve also been busy building a new database that will power the Register of Costs Lawyers, enhancing data security and making communications easier. And, in November, we will be launching a system that will allow you to renew your practising certificate electronically, making things quicker and simpler for everyone.

In each edition of our newsletter, you will find updates on regulatory matters as well as a preview of what’s coming in the months ahead. We will also be highlighting an important area of professional ethics or standards by including a guest post from someone with a different perspective to our own. In this issue, we are shining our spotlight on diversity and inclusion, with a post by Kate Gallafent QC of Blackstone Chambers.

As always, we welcome your feedback – on our newsletter, our wider work, or anything else that comes to mind.
