Life in the law can be challenging and sometimes things can get on top of you. This is where LawCare can help?
Its confidential helpline is a safe place to talk without judgement. They are there to listen – with calls answered by trained staff and volunteers who have first-hand experience of working in the law. Last year they responded to nearly 900 calls, with half of those calling citing stress and depression.
As well as its helpline, LawCare offersone-to-one peer support. It has a network of Peer Supporters, people who work in the legal profession who may have been through difficult times themselves and can offer one-to-one support, friendship and mentoring to helpline callers referred to them.
The mission of LawCare is to help the legal community with personal or professional concerns that may be affecting their mental health and wellbeing, and to promote understanding of how and when to seek help, without fear or stigma.
LawCare helps all branches of the legal profession: Solicitors, Barristers, Barrister’s Clerks, Judges, Legal Executives, Paralegals, Trade Mark Attorneys, Patent Agents, Costs Lawyers and their staff and families. Its helpline is open (0800 279 6888) Monday to Friday from 9am – 5.30pm.
